Kristen has a heart to instill grace and truth into the lives of children.  Her creativity, practical experience, and love for kids help prepare the next generation with a strong biblical foundation and worldview.

I grew up in Southern California going to a Lutheran church and school. I loved Sunday school and VBS, which I went to and helped with for many summers.  I moved to Washington in 1986, and in 1987 I gave my heart to Jesus.  I started teaching AWANA at Antioch Bible Church in the Cubbies program in 1993, and then started teaching Sunday school in the Pre-K class in 1995 going through 2017.  My husband Dave has been my teaching partner for many of those years; it is great to have a male influence in the class.  When Dave and I started here at Montage in the spring of 2019, I started full-time in the Sparks class.

I love being a part of the children’s ministry:  teaching God’s word, being creative in ways so the kids can not only hear God’s Word but see it come alive with word pictures, crafts, acting it out or games.  I want them to learn that they need a relationship with Jesus and that church/Sunday school is a fun and cool place to come and bring their friends.

I am a child of God,  a wife to Dave, a mom to 3 sons: Kyle (36) Bryce (33) Josh (25)
